The Art Bell Poll Did He Kill Ramona

There was a huge response to this post and the poll shows that an overwhelming 85% of you thought that Art had something to do with Ramona’s death.

In light of the great response from that poll, we have started another poll, this one is a about Art. New Poll is active for Art Bell HERE

Voice your opinion on rather Art Bell had anything to do with the death of Ramona Bell.…. .Thank you for your response but that poll is now closed. See the responses above.

Just three months after losing wife Ramona to complications from asthma, “Coast- to- Coast AM” host Art Bell has moved to the Philippines and remarried.

After several weeks of mourning, he had recently gone to the Philippines and married Airyn Ruiz, a recent college graduate

  1. No. Art did NOT kill Ramona. I can’t say that I know Art personally,But I have listened to his show for 15 years. Long enough to safely comment on his personality. The loss of his wife hurt him so bad that he needed something or someone to keep his mind off of it or possibly end up suicidal. I see absolutely nothing off color about his recent decisions. Everybody wants a conspiracy. There is no conspiracy here. Just a man that knew he had to carry on or die. Love ya Art. Hang in there man.

  2. I would not have dreamed it possible. I love Art Bell and enjoyed when Ramona participated on the show.
But, dang, it sure doesn’t look too good for Art right now. Within about 90 days of Ramona’s death, Art
met and married a young and pretty Filipina who just recently graduated from college AND moved to the
Phillipines? You would think he could have at least waited until the ink on the death certificate had
dried. Well, you can bet Ramona will haunt him to the end of his days if he did kill her…she may do
    that anyway!

  3. It’s very suspicious. I think it should be investigated. Much too weird. I think he knocked her off and married this young chick. I’d like to know how long he’s really known this woman.

  4. The whole Art Bell situation seems very weird to me. I always enjoyed hearing Art talk about Ramona, and I know that she helped him during his overnight show on more than one occasion. Something that seems wrong is that in spite of Ramona’s asthma, both she and Art were smokers. Eliminating that habit, alone, would have improved quality of life for both of them. I don’t think Art had anything to do with her sudden death, but asthma and smoking do not mix. I think this is a testimonial to that. BUT….as others have observed, how in the world after sharing a supposed “great love” with Ramona for many years could Art really be in love with his new wife? “Love” doesn’t happen that fast. Lust does, as does infatuation. Both are “band aids” for loneliness and bewilderment such as might happen after the death of a spouse. Art might have an infatuation for the new wife, but now that a Baby Bell is on the way, he’d better make darned sure that he can either turn it into long term love, or make provisions for this wife and his child. (Incidentally, have you also noticed that his wife is young enough to BE his child??)

  5. Ann,
I find it a bit odd that Art now decides to quit smoking, or at least cut down as much as he said he has.
Also I think that his new wife is a bit too young for him. When I first heard about her, I thought it might be a financial deal for her and her family, and what Art gets out of it is obvious.

I agree about what you said regarding the difference between “Love” and “Lust”

I hate to judge Art, but I figure……Why Not? I judge everyone else on my blog.

Thanks to all who commented on this topic.

    Dear Sirs,
I listened to Art Bell’s broadcasts often, when working during night hours and have always respected Art’ Bell’s honesty in his program presentations. I feel that Art Bell would not be the type of person to be deliberately involved in Ramona’s death.
However, if there are doubts, I wonder, (if contacted) what would Sylvia Browne say regarding Ramona’s cause of death ?
    Yours truly,

  7. oh please….this airyn ruiz doesnt have respect for the dead wife…we filipinos mourn for the death of our love ones…and in case your husband dies or wife —per tradition youre suppose to mourn for your loss and remarry until after a year…. well sorry to say ms. airyn—i dont think you have a concience at all –to think ms ramona(deceased wife of art) is a “kababayan”—you were just in too much a hurry to get your hands on the money of Mr. Bell—and get your family out of poverty—obviously –youre a gold digger….!!! i cldnt imagine–when i was 20something i would puke at the idea of having sex with a 60 yr old yuuukkss!!! as for mr. bell…goodluck—after your mailorder bride airyn gets her citizenship—byebye mr. bellboy

  8. rits:
I agree with everything that you just said. I also thought that I read somewhere that Art Bell had an Internet relationship with Airyn, before he went to the Philippines to finally meet her in person.

The way art tells it, you would think that he mourned for a long time, but I think that if the internet relationship with Airyn is true, then Art must have been talking with Airyn for a while, maybe before he even had to start grieving?.

Anyway, I think that Art’s money and fame, and Airyn’s greed must have played a part in Airyn’s marrying a widower, nearly three times her age, and having a baby with him, especially so soon after Ramona Bell died.

  9. I am glad I found this site as the posts here reflect my thinking

  10. I listen to the radio show and have for years. I remember how Art spoke with love and affection for RaMona. I do believe in love at first site and perhaps this happened. I also know that lonliness can make you do and act as you normally would not, so can greif. I know nothing of Phillipino customs, but do agree his new bride should respect traditions, however now that the moment has happened and a baby is on the way, my prayers are for a happy future for them.

  11. was there an ongoing investigation about ramona’s death ? please i wanna know the latest info…

ramona is half filipina , airyn is full filipina, half size/age of art ..looks there’s a pattern here huh ?
but the winner is ….art …he’s going to be a dad, grandpa ? and live happily ever after in the PHILIPPINES is that right ? if so why in the THIRD WORLD country art ?

  12. I respect Art Bell’s decision to be up front with his audience about what he was going through at the death of Ramona. I also respect his candor about how he met his new wife, the marriage, etc.

As for the age difference, come on! If they like, respect and love each other more power to them. He deserves happiness and she deserves to be treated like the lady she is. I think they each made a good choice.

Art Bell is a national treasure. He is a good man. He walks his talk. I think his new family is going to do just fine. I just know that his girl will love her Daddy. I also know he will respect his wife and her family.

Art Bell is his own person. That makes him a target by people who get irritated and resentful when they see others who are successful and happy with their life. These sort of people are so inverted they think good is bad and up is down. Envy, gossip, and judgement comes from those who have no compassion or understanding.

  13. rits,

and to all those who want to judge airyn’s mishap….c’mon

airyn is just a victim of circumstances here…how could airyn

possibly mourn ramona’s death where in fact and i am 100%

sure she doesnt love ramona , not even art ….and you’ll

say she got pregnant soon ? c’mon she cant rape art ..in fact

t’was a cowardly act by art to escape the haunting spirit of

ramona …(may she rest in peace with our Lord ) ..if i am in

airyn’s shoes , a BIG OPPORTUNITY knocks on my screen from

the cyberspace and offered all the galaxies …I WOULD GRAB IT IN SECONDS !!!

God is not sleeping and i pray CRIME does really pay for those

offenders and justice should prevail !!!

and i wish a psychic reader happen to stumble on this site

and post his/ her views and our speculative minds will be at peace with our body and soul …..AMEN !

  14. I’m sorry…..Art’s marrying this young of a woman is just sick. Reminds me of Anna Nicloe Smith.

I lost a lot of respect for Art when Ramona died. He cried like a little baby and wasn’t half the man I thought he was. Most people lose a partner at some time in life. It’s just part of living and most people deal with it, however painfull it is.

Art thinks he’ll be happy with his young wife and new baby, but I sense a fly in the soup.

His new wife will soon want to move into a big new house and then another baby will be on the way…just wait and see. Then after the second child is born, Art will become very ill and won’t have long to live. Aryin is setting herself up to live large, as she knows Art won’t be around much longer.

You wanted a psychic reader, and I happen to be one.

  15. well thanks Josh ! you are probably a heaven sent on this
blog and could clarify the main topic here…
there’s no doubt about it a young woman marrying a sick old man may it be an asian, black , or white race and her main motive there is to get SECURITY in life ….

josh, if you are a psychic reader could you please tell ” US ” the cause of death of ramona ? was there a conspiracy , foul play or was it a real natural death ? that’s all so people who post their views here dont go around the bush then pointing their finger to airyn’s predicament … we have to focus all our minds to draw a conclusion to solve a crime and will be a great help for those Crime investigators not acting with their conscience ..God bless ramona and may she rest in peace ….

  16. Art Bell is an honorable man. he was married to the love of his life, Ramona, and they enjoyed each other as married couples sometimes do.

He was deeply grieved by her death.
No one- none of us- will ever know exactly how he felt.

But he was generous with sharing his experience of her passing and his thoughts and feelings about it.

In hindsight, I wonder if he thinks it was beneficial to let his guard down to the public in such a vulnerable time.

I truly appreciate his radio shows. He speaks his truth by expressing his world view and his personal, private views. I think a lot of people learn more about themselves with a guide- and Art bell is a great guid- giving us gentle nudges and full body slams when appropriate.

    Reality is perception.
He shared his perception of the death of his beloved with us.

AS much as was possible. And as the stages of grief shifted and changed, he was reborn in love with his new wife and now
    new baby.
He shares her photo and WOW! what a child.

What more do you all want?
Do you think that you are entitled to anything that passes in front of your heads?

    Grow some boundaries

Read a book or take a walk outdoors
Learn something from having a conversation with someone you respect

    or not

Art Bell has given us ears and a voice to ponder things that we would never get anywhere else.

    What have you done?

    Peace

  17. kudra,

there’s a contradictory statements on your point of view..
how could you tell that art deeply grieved by ramona’s death ? as you’ve said no one will ever know exactly how he felt… you must be carried away by his teachings …too much listening on his radio maybe …
reality check …will you remarry after 3 months your beloved die? where’s his respect if you call him an honorable man? sudden ? urge is not an alibi to compnesate your loneliness or your emptiness ..that’s a great insult for ramona or she might curse him for that …what a pathetic act !

  18. I still think Art had something to do with Ramona’s death - even if he only stood there and pretended to not acknowledge what was happening (although I think it was more then that).

Lucky new girl - she and her family will be well to do forever.

    What happened to Art’s son?

  19. I don’t know if Art had anything to do with it or not, although it is really suspicious, however, I thought I heard somewhere that Art knew this new girl, while Ramona was still alive?!?!?!?

    Anyone else hear about this?

  20. Art is once again “retiring” from radio. He wants whatever time he has left to enjoy with his wife and daughter.

He never talks about his son. Does anyone know what happened to his son?

  21. Hypothetical - If a story had been reported on CNN, Fox News - whatever, that an older married mans wife dies suddenly, the man moves out of country and married a MUCH younger foreign girl - what knee jerk conclusion would you draw? So what if it is Art Bell? This whole situation rings odd.

P.S. He recently announced that he is retiring for, what I believe to be, the 15th time!

  22. You guys might want to take a look at this site for some Art Bell news http://www.nworeport.com

You might want to bookmark this site.

  23. Hey Randy,
That’s a very interesting site. I usually don’t allow posts with links to sites unless I think that they will be fun, safe and interesting for my readers.

Even though I don’t quite understand the connection to your post and the topic of this forum.

Anyway Thanks for the cool link.

  24. Just a voice, the site ran some story’s about Art Bell I thought you guys might find interesting.

  25. Hey Randy, Thanks again for the site….Sorry that I didn’t see the relationship before but that site has a lot of stuff on it (cool)
    Take Care.

  26. The fact that Ramona died in a hotel in Laughlin,NV and did not die at home was, initially, and remains suspicious in my intuitive take on things. Kind of reminded me of a scene from “Gross Pointe Blank” — hotel set-up (if you saw that movie - John Cusak, played a hit man). On a gut-level it did not sit well with me. I am psychic and did not feel 100% ok with this turn of events at the time of the event.

On a secondary level, noting the degree to which Art Bell has exposed himself to the varied layers of this world and other worlds (that most of us are not trained to perceive) it is entirely possible that Ramona caught flack as a proximate victim in Art Bell’s inner circle.

Then, of course, followed so soon by a marriage … my sense is that Art took a new perspective on life at the death of his wife and realized how quickly life passes us by. Having grieved her passing, time in a universal sense, can operate without limit, as Art might understand it. The grieving, having happened and enacted honestly, Art was likely freed in his conscience to recreate a second family for the balance of his life, and likely to maintain balance in his life.

Where I personally have issue is in the “thrift” of his timing and likely a counselor would have encouraged some re-adjustment time to widower status.
    But, what do I know ??? …

  27. As someone who has allergies and asthma myself, I don’t find it at all suspicious that she died in a hotel and not at home. Hotels have things in them that allergic people are allergic to and may not know are there.

I once went to sleep in a hotel and woke-up blind, my eyelids had puffed up so much during my sleep that I couldn’t open my eyes. They had goose down pillows and I didn’t know that I was severely allergic to goose down. That could have just as easily triggered an asthma attack but that time around I got lucky and it didn’t.

As to the age difference, my sister in law married someone approximately thirty years her senior and has been with him nearly two decades and and they are raising a child together. They show every indication of being very happy with each other. Given the average marriage lasts only seven years, the odds are very good that death isn’t going to do you part even if you marry someone much older. The rate at which people age, their longevity, health, and emotional maturity, varies so widely from individual that again I don’t think age is a very important factor.

Regarding how soon he remarried, it is a statistical fact that the happier a person is in marriage, the sooner they will remarry after a death of a spouse. It may seem counterintuitive from a respect standpoint, but if you give it half an ounce of thought, marriage vows almost always include “until death do us part”, and for that reason no promise is being broken, second, if you were happy in a situation you would want to return to a similar situation as soon as possible, particularly if you are older and don’t know how much longer you will live.

I do agree that smoking was bad for them, it’s certainly not a healthy habit but I’ve got quite a few dead relatives that were killed by cigarettes and they all knew the health issues too. Again referring to statistics, heroin addicts have a better track record for quitting and staying off the drug than tobacco smokers.

A few things that nobody seems to be mentioning, Craig Kitchin, one of the founders of Premier Radio and someone that Art frequently mentioned as a mentor, also announced his retirement from Clear Channel the same day Art Bell did. Clear Channel was involved in a merger with a Texas company called “Mergeco”, which to me sounds like a company that is created for the sole purpose of “merging”, or assuming control, which sounds ludicrous unless it’s a CIA front or something. I can’t help but wonder if that didn’t have something to do with Art Bell and Craig Kitchin’s retirement.

Craig Kitchin also stated that he wanted to spend more time with family, but later alluded to a “much more tightly focused project”. This leaves me wondering if Craig Kitchin and Art Bell aren’t planning some future collaboration. Art Bell of coarse still has KNYE, Ramona was responsible for much of the operation of that station and now that she’s gone I wonder if Art and Craig haven’t made some big plans. Just some wild speculation on my part.

  28. I used to listen to Coast2Coast regularly. At practically every show Art would make some comment about his ’soulmate’, Ramona.

For a period of months there was no mention of her.
I wondered why? Were they bickering? Is she away? Is she sick?

THen, the broadcast that shocked me. She is dead. Mysteriously.
Suddenly. Overnight, while HE slept. It was NOT anything that carried on over those months of him not mentioning her name.

    She was cremated, I believe.

Then, it comes out, that while Ramona lived, Whitley Strieber had been entertaining a conversation with this cute little Filippino chick on some internet dating site.

Whitley introduces Art to this girl-child.

Ramona was Art’s third marriage. I am wondering if the internet dating site were active on Art’s computer and Ramona saw it. I am wondering if Art paid alimony to any of his ex wives.

I don’t think Art moved back to Parhump with the intention of quitting his show. I think something made him uncomfortable. Had some people in town been talking? Did the new wife catch wind of the gossip?

    Will they be moving, again?

Look, I don’t in any way blame this new wife. She’s just a kid. Didn’t Kissinger say power is a great aphrodesiac? Bell has something that you can call power on the airwaves, and he certainly has money. He’s not ugly. I can see her sweet little head turning. HE is the one who is supposed to be the more wise.

    Did she sign a prenup?
If she did not, she’d best be careful that he does not grow tired of her.

  29. Hello HeDidIt!, and thanks for your input, it is very thought provoking. I might add that I believe that Art moved away from the Philippines and back to Pahrump, at least partially, due to the recirculation of the alleged Filipino hate letter.

  30. I think Art is guilty of negligent homicide by not rushing her to a hospital.

  31. Yup
He killed her by withholding her inhaler.

  32. Judge lest ye be judged.

  33. Yes Art Bell had something to do with killing his wife. And this needs to be investigated into further and he should be held responsible for his actions. Fry the sick bastard!

  34. Why have all the psychics and ghost people vanished from the show? Will they return when Art is gone? Veryfew shows are worth tuning into now.

  35. Thanks newworld, and I agree that there seems to be less psychics and ghost stories, now that Art is gone. Also it appears that George likes to put liberal, “Conspiracy theory” guests on and let them bash our government. Art would not let this happen.

Oh well, I am no longer a loyal listener, even with all of the fiction that George allows on his show, it’s just not interesting any longer, it’s just insulting.

  36. Dear Art, you loved your wife when she was
alive. You made her happy. I hope you can also
make your new bride equaly as happy as
you did Ramona. I am sorry about Ramona, but
you have to move on. I hope you and
Airyn will be happy. If shes good with your
age and you with her. God Bless. She’s seems
like a great person. Some women like younger
guys some go for older men. Good for them…
I’m glad your happy. God Bless

  37. does any body know how arts son is doing and
if he is alive?? a caller ask how he feels
about his sister, and Art said he does not
    talk about it. pat

  38. I thinks it’s disgusting all the bad crap I am reading about Art Bell and his possible involvement in Ramonas passing. Then to read how people are all upset over Art marrying a younger Lady so soon after Ramonas death. Even long time allies of Arts are baling… Leave the man alone, let him grieve how he wishes. Art has done so much and sacrificed so much for TRUTH for all of us. Art there are still millions who love You so don’t let a few jealouse, inconsiderate slobs get You down !!

  39. Congratulations Airyn, you are set for life if your husband doesn’t either murder you or cut you off in the future. Be subservient, for that is what Art wants. If you do not obey him he will probably turn on you. Get your citizenship and bring all of your immediate family over to the states as soon as possible. You have scored big time Airyn. It sounds most likely that you were entertaining marriage long before Ramona took her last breath. You must be a shrewd woman. Give Art what he deserves and requires and your future will be bright.

  40. You all are really doing all you can to over analyze a life changing event that Art handled in the way that he did. His wife was gone and I am sure he was lonely and this woman was a friend of someone who was already in a long distance with a friend of Art’s. So it stands to reason that Art’s friend sees that Art is taking his wife’s untimely passing very hard and introduced him to his girlfriend’s friend. Was it too fast? Well we all deal with loss in different ways. Judge not lest ye be judged. I am also married to a filapina and I am 47 and she is 32. We met in Hong Kong and never thought about our age difference, we just fell in love! So why not just wish the best for the man?

  41. this sounds kind of bad. the new wife is a younger more nubile replica of the first wife. and men get tired of the old wife and just want younger, newer, fresher ass. it’s the truth. all men are like that. they get bored of the worn out nagging tired used up older women. i wonder if he didn’t suffocate her and said it was “asthma asphyxiation”. it would look the same. and she wasn’t autopsied. he didn’t allow that which is weird. and he married this 21 year old 3 months later? wow. that’s bad and suspect.

  42. who could do something like that.. he seems to have a weakness for women, he enjoys them . Just cant keep one… take good care Art.

  43. I am one of Art Bells EX-WIFE’S. Boy I could tell you a few things about Art that the world does not know, but the world should know! Somebody should ask me what it is?
LOOK OUT Airyn Art preys on the innocent.

Just a note from Just A Voice here: I know I will be sorry for letting this comment through, but here it is anyway.
