Capitol Visitor Center Mangles the Constitution
Another example of erasing faith in the public square at the new U.S. Capitol visitor’s center, which managed to virtually exclude any reference to our national motto (“In God We Trust”) or the Pledge of Allegiance.
The multimillion-dollar center has opened — with glaring omissions and an interpretation of the Constitution many find troubling.
Not only are liberals trying to remove anything to do with the word GOD from the public square, they are trying to erase religion from Americas history.

The censoring of Christmas is a symptom of the greater struggle we face — the removal of any mention of God from our public lives.
In Colorado, the governor recently became the subject of an anti-faith lawsuit due to his participation in the annual National Day of Prayer. And the fallout from last month’s elections continues to be felt as some pundits blame Christians for the fate of Republican candidates. A nationally syndicated columnist wrote “…the evangelical, right-wing, oogedy-boogedy branch of the GOP is what ails the erstwhile conservative party and will continue to afflict and marginalize its constituents if reckoning doesn’t soon cometh.”
In this new political climate, public faith that challenges the state-centered, secular mandate will not be tolerated. That is why Focus Action’s “I Stand for Christmas” campaign is a vital one. This is an opportunity for people of faith to draw a line in the stand and say, “No more,” as we prepare for intensifying challenges to our faith from the secular elites.
Focus on the Family will be delivering “I Stand for Christmas” petitions to the remaining retailers in the next few weeks. It is not too late to encourage your friends to sign the petition so they, too, can express their thanks to the “Christmas-friendly” retailers and concern to the “Christmas-negligent” retailers. Thank you once again.
