eBay scam artists and what they do to sellers
Thanks to Feral pundit for allowing me to guest author this post on his blog.
This is the first time I am posting on a blog so please understand.
My post is intended to help other eBay sellers by asking everyone to post their experience on eBay and buyer scammer names for all sellers to see and block.
Ever sell on eBay? Then you, undoubtedly, have come across a scam artist buying your items only to try and get something for free.
They succeed because pay pal is in favor of buyers no matter what they do to us sellers.
There is a large group of postings on the eBay message boards, of sellers and their horror stories with regard to criminals posing as buyers on eBay You can see it here
I’ll start off with my personal experience of one scam artist (e Grifter) posing as a buyer :
rentadog (buyer/scammer name) I sold this person a Blu ray DVD set in like new condition, however because it had a different than original case I listed it as in good condition, and placed many pictures and a detailed description of everything, including the replacement case the set was in. When rentadog received the item he sent me a Not As Described email complaint.
Here is what he said:
“I received the Planet Earth collection to day and it is not in what I would deem ” good “condition. The Jewel case is a wreck. The bottom is barely attached and the 1st Discholder simply does not work. Also, the original case is not the same size, which rendersit useless. The discs themselves do not appear scratched, however do have finger prints and smuges. All in all, I think an adjustment in price is due“.
This guy was a liar! I knew what I shipped and how it was listed. The jewel case was one of those hard rubber ones not the brittle plastic ones so it would not be a “wreck” even if a bulldozer ran it over during shipping. As for the fingerprints, I cleaned everything before shipping. (Spotless)
He asked for an adjustment in price? if it was “USELESS” or he was deceived by a blatantly false description, then why ask for an adjustment in price and not a refund? If this was in fact what he received he should have been mad as hell and demanded a refund. I just refunded his money, let him keep the DVDs and we both agreed to cancel the sale, so this scam artist couldn’t leave me negative feedback to boot.
There are more like this but this is the one I chose to post. Post your experiences here too in the Comments for this post. Help others see what is happening and let them choose to block buyers, or not.
Thank You.

We just got scammed by an e Bay seller named ace916. One of those crooks that orders something and then want’s to get it for free. You know the type that emails you saying there is some ridiculous thing wrong with an item they received from you so you say No Problem, send it back…. Then they say just send me the money or I will leave bad feedback. That’s crooked this ace916 guy was a douche and a crook
I think you might have meant the douche was a buyer? Either way I see he has a seller account.
I wonder if he is a crook why he would use his account name instead of registering a new username to buy something and then pull that?
Maybe he really had a problem with the item or he was just stupid. Either way, I saw your listing and you do you say that any returns are paid for by buyer.
Are you Jack? I wont tell anyone if you are, let me know ok? If you are you could smear this guy off the face of the earth. You could even post his address if you wanted to. What is his email?
I heard the name ace916 before on eBay he sells mostly auto parts or some crap like that. We’ll spread the word about this pirate ace916. Let us know of other eBay scam artists you come across we may just start an entire thread about the crooks on eBay. My friend sells there and has some interesting horror stories too.
