Message to Copenhagen: Our Constitution Begins, ‘We the People…’

Tomorrow morning, the delegates at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen will awaken to a very simple but powerful message:

“In America, We Have a Constitution. It Begins: We the People…”

These are the opening lines of a message to the American delegates in Copenhagen and the rest of the world sent on behalf of the American people by American Solutions. They are meant as a reminder to both Obama Administration officials and international climate activists that under our constitutional system, the American people, not government bureaucrats, are sovereign.

Ronald Reagan was right when he said that America is a nation that has a government — not the other way around.

And if you have any doubt that the delegates at Copenhagen need to hear this message, take a look at this:

This is a reference guide being handed out by one of the non-governmental organizations at Copenhagen to keep track of all the proposals to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation. Its purposefully modeled after the Chinese mass murderer Mao Tse-Tung’s “Little Red Book of Communism.”

Can the profoundly undemocratic nature of this conference be any clearer?

Congress Has the Power to Protect the Constitution. It Should Use It.

American Solutions’ message to the Obama Administration and the Copenhagen delegates is this:

President Obama cannot bind the American people to job killing international agreements on climate change without the advice and consent of the United States Senate.

Similarly, he can’t bypass the peoples’ representatives in Congress by having the EPA pursue the same goals through bureaucratic totalitarianism.

This message to the President is also a message to Congress. Should the Obama Administration act unilaterally and subvert the Constitution, the American people will rightfully rise up in opposition.

Congress has the power to protect its constitutional role and protect the people’s voice in how we’re governed. It should use it.

Substituting the Advice and Consent of the Senate with the Bureaucratic Power of the EPA

When he travels to Copenhagen this week, President Obama is reportedly going to pledge to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent by 2020.

The Obama Administration’s various threats to act unilaterally — both in Copenhagen and at home via the EPA — to achieve this goal occur against the backdrop of this inescapable fact: The Senate, reflecting the will of the American people, refuses to pass the administration’s job killing cap and trade legislation.

The result is that the administration is preparing to bypass the Senate with its announcement last week that the EPA will regulate carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant.

Knowing that it lacks the votes in the Senate to ratify any binding commitment made in Copenhagen to radically lower emissions, the administration may well attempt to use the EPA’s newly asserted power — thus bypassing Senate ratification — to implement the agreement.

This would be a breathtakingly anti-democratic and unconstitutional arrogation of power on the part of the President. But it is exactly what some groups are pressuring the President to do. See this report, “Yes He Can: President Obama’s Power to Make an International Climate Commitment Without Waiting for Congress” by the Center for Biological Diversity Climate Law Institute.

And Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass.), the co-author of the energy tax in the House of Representatives, stated this past weekend on “Fox News Sunday”, in response to Chris Wallace’s question about whether President Obama could make a binding commitment at Copenhagen, that “without question, the President does have the authority to make a commitment based upon the endangerment finding — that is the authority the EPA will have.”

Such action would be a corruption of America’s constitutional system that the Congress must reverse.

Does Senator Webb Believe the Authority of the EPA Can Substitute for the Authority of the Senate?

Some senators seem to get this. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) stated flatly that the President doesn’t have the power to make binding emissions reductions commitments at Copenhagen.

And Virginia Democratic Senator Jim Webb recently wrote an open letter to President Obama in which he warned the President not to make binding commitments at Copenhagen.

“As you well know from your time in the Senate,” wrote Webb, “only specific legislation agreed upon in the Congress, or a treaty ratified by the Senate, could actually create such a commitment on behalf of our country.”

But Senator Webb wrote his letter before the EPA unilaterally declared the government’s right to regulate carbon dioxide.

And so the question must be asked of Senator Webb: Does he believe that the authority of the EPA can substitute for the constitutional authority of the Senate — authority that he has so courageously defended?

Radical Environmentalism Is “The New Socialism”

Columnist Charles Krauthammer calls the shake down occurring in Copenhagen and the EPA’s domestic power grab “the new socialism.”

Following the death of the old socialism with the Soviet empire, writes Krauthammer, “the cultural elites went straight from the memorial service for socialism to the altar of the environment. The objective is the same: highly centralized power given to the best and the brightest, the new class of experts and technocrats. This time, however, the alleged justification is saving the planet.”

And if the question is, “Will the new socialism succeed?” the answer is, “Not if the American people have anything to do with it.”

The American People, United, Will Never Be Defeated

Last year, the “drill here, drill now” movement succeeded in removing both the executive and legislative bans on drilling offshore to capture American energy [www.americansolutions.com/drill].

The American people’s success in “drill here, drill now” opened up a national conversation on freeing America from dependence on foreign dictators for our oil. Americans began to understand and believe that We Have the Power (see Callista’s and my movie on energy of the same name) to safely develop our own energy reserves and technology to achieve energy independence.

Today, American Solutions is issuing a similar rallying cry to the American people.

Our message is that no imperial presidency, no totalitarian bureaucracy, and no global international elite can or will usurp the power of We the People.

Well maybe they didn’t go that far but c’mon, lets call a spade a spade, this is more like the pot calling the kettle black, its not like we are calling Barry Sotoro AKA Barack Obama,or his ignorant wife a Buffie, a Brownie, a Bounty Bar a Crow, Darkie, Eight ball, Gable, Jigaboo, Jungle Bunny, kaffir, Moon Cricket, Mammy,Oreo, Sambo, Spear Chucker, Spook, Bur Head, Porch Monkey or Coon…. OK, It is not only Google in China that restricts what is posted on their internet search pages, and that is only because of the Chinese Government, but Google is now doing this in the USA, all on their own.

Nothing new here, Bush was merged, and there is a site that merges many famous people, even America hating people like Michelle Obama.

Guess what? Blacks are ranting and raving about it and blaming the white race for it….. Sounds racist to me considering the photo was originally morphed by someone in China, however, this does not matter to the racists ranting and crying foul because it involves a black woman. Obviously the first amendment does not apply unless it is anti white or anti Male Christian, bashing as far as these idiots are concerned.

I think PETA should get involved here because if anything constitutes an abuse, it is the depiction of the poor ape which was morphed with an ugly fat-assed witch, like Michelle Obama.

Among his e-mails, Mr. Jones talked to Mr. Mann about the “trick of adding in the real temps to each series … to hide the decline [in temperature].”

The president made statements that appear to land on both sides of the issue.

President Obama said in an interview with ABC News on Monday that he doesn’t want to change the “status quo” with regard to government funding of abortion.

To date, the proposals have offered funding for abortion. But a forced vote on an amendment by pro-life Democrats prohibited that. President Obama said he doesn’t want “to restrict women’s insurance choices” – meaning he wants plans that include abortion to continue offering them after the government gets involved.

In the interview with reporter Jake Tapper, Obama appeared to support the Hyde Amendment that prohibits abortion funding in other areas of federal law.

“I want to make sure that the provision that emerges meets that test – that we are not in some way sneaking in funding for abortions,” he said.

While the president sounds like he’s on both sides of the issue, he may be attempting to make a fine distinction. It would appear his argument is that money given to the federal government as premiums and paid out for abortions does not qualify as “tax money,” and therefore is not, in his mind, “federal funding.” Pro-life groups disagree strongly.

In keeping with my posting of “City of Redding employees take easy way out” AND the popular “Lazy Employees Plague our cities” I am continuing the posts with this latest gem involving another City of Redding Employee.

While at the Main Redding Post Office, I spot this guy who parks in the largest spot available (space is about 1-1/2 the size of a regular space) to pickup mail for the city, no problem with that. Here is the rub…….

It is not the fact that he backs into a space on a one way parking lot, (he needed to have the back of his truck handy to put his mail into lol)

This moron, parks in the “Big Space” and still takes part of another parking space that someone could have used. OK Granted that he is not too far into the adjoining space but why be in it at all? Why does he need to take another space that someone could have used? Now whoever decides to try and park in it, has to stick out into the line of traffic because they can’t pull all the way in… This guy was driving a small city truck and could easily fit in a regular space, however being too lazy to either correct his parking or walk three more steps, he not only takes the “Big Space, but he blocks another space as well.

OK Everyone has heard the old computer joke that goes something like this:
Compaq is considering changing the command “Press Any Key” to “Press Return Key” because of the flood of calls asking where the “Any” key is.

Some locals here in Redding, CA. will be familiar with two, of many, media outlets who could benefit from a bit of helpful criticism.

One Television news channel had a young Man? who has the most exaggerated “Gay” sounding voice with a bad lisp I believe he is gone now and replaced with another San Francisco native who is not quite as bad. This man? made it almost impossible for me to watch, or even listen to this channel because of his sickening voice and ugly face, I mean come on this guy? is on television? He has the face made for radio and the voice made for the spokesman for Gay Pride Parade weekly!

The Local Television news channels, here in Redding, are getting better all the time. If anyone from channel 7 news reads this, please let KQMS news radio know who does your website….. They REALLY need the help.

Good Grief people if you insist on keeping a bunch of hillbillies running the station, at least get a decent website. How many times do you need to have dead air for 5 minutes at a time at night before you hire someone who does not fall asleep while they are supposed to be running the station overnight? While sleeping so sound, they can’t answer the phone so someone can tell them….HEY!!! You have Dead Air!! There are countless voice over ad mistakes and multiple commercials that run on top of each other so you get “Stereo Gibberish” The station manager must be on a continuous high.

Now, on to one employee, in particular, named Erin Meyers. This girl, Erin, has the most depressing and drawn out boring way of reading the news reports, I have ever heard. She reports in a way reminiscent of past day Communist news reporters. There is no emotion in her monotone voice. What a depressing way of reading the news. I have heard her speak and interact on air, other than reading the news, and it is not that much better. Who does the hiring there? and Why??? Are you all related? or do you just work really cheap?

Have you people ever heard of answering your emails? I am sure that you have plenty of time as it is obvious that you do not have to prepare yourselves for anything you do there. It all seems like “Off the cuff” and really bad improvisation. Erin, quit talking over the show intros… You drag out K……….Q………….M…………S wayyyyyy too long and go over.

Other than that, the syndicated shows you do air, are pretty good.

The internet chapter of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, a secret copyright treaty whose text Obama’s administration refused to disclose due to “national security” concerns, has leaked. It’s bad. It says:

* That ISPs have to proactively police copyright on user-contributed material. This means that it will be impossible to run a service like Flickr or YouTube or Blogger, since hiring enough lawyers to ensure that the mountain of material uploaded every second isn’t infringing will exceed any hope of profitability.
That ISPs have to cut off the Internet access of accused copyright infringers or face liability. This means that your entire family could be denied to the internet — and hence to civic participation, health information, education, communications, and their means of earning a living — if one member is accused of copyright infringement, without access to a trial or counsel.
That the whole world must adopt US-style “notice-and-takedown” rules that require ISPs to remove any material that is accused — again, without evidence or trial — of infringing copyright. This has proved a disaster in the US and other countries, where it provides an easy means of censoring material, just by accusing it of infringing copyright.
Mandatory prohibitions on breaking DRM, even if doing so for a lawful purpose (e.g., to make a work available to disabled people; for archival preservation; because you own the copyrighted work that is locked up with DRM)
